The abrupt hiatus was not without an explanation but any attempt at doing so would just come across as lame excuses. It taxes the mind to put thoughts into words especially when you had final university exams to deal with, work visa application to fret about, summer holidays to enjoy with loved ones, and a career as an actuary to embark on. So, in short, I was lazy.

Prodded, perhaps, by the realisation that I should do this for posterity sake, I am ready once again to document my thoughts and put up a photo related, in some weird metaphysical sense, to said thoughts.

Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for? - Robert Browning

Back when this blog was actively tended to, there had always been a year-in-retrospect feature, in which I waxed lyrical about the past. I'm tempted to look back at the noughties but 2010 seems like the year to start looking forward. For the first time, I'm happy where I am and I have tangible but somewhat far-reaching goals to work towards.

Here then is to the start of the next stretch of the journey; happy New Year, all.
