When I was young, I was told that a lot of things are bad for me. Some genuinely so, most things not quite. I'm glad that my mum (happy Birthday, btw!) kept the fridge free of sugared water (I could have had adult-onset diabetes) but not so glad that she kept me from playing video games (I could have excellent hand-eye coordination).
If you give it a thought, most things in moderation are good for you. I'm a big fan of moderation. Some smart ass might retort "why don't you get run down by a truck more often?". To which I would say, "I wish I could but I only die once". Which leads to my point. There's just this one life and if you have to impose any kind of restrictions to the way you live, let it be done only out of consideration for moderation.
So really, inhaling herbs is only bad in the sense that eating too much chocolate makes you fat.
