In between my commitment to exams and interviews, I find joy in watching The Office. The American one (can totally feel you purists out there rolling your eyes).

To the Jim's and Pam's out there:

Pam and Jim;
True feelings he hides,
She likes him;
Not meant to be (not when in Michael he confides).

He longs to hold her hands;
she keeps shying away,
Mixed signals she sends;
To the dance of love, they sway.

Called her on the phone,
Something important he had to say,
She is the one,
Got to do it another day. - zx

It's funny why I like the show so much; Michael Scott, the-whole-world-revolves-around-me, attention-seeking boss, annoys me so much that I feel like punching him in the face at times. He's an idiot. That should say something about the kind of guy Michael is because I don't use that word often, not even to describe myself when I reversed the family car into a stationary solid object for the umpteenth time!

I can't stand Dwight Schrute, the pompous self-appointed Assistant (to the) Regional Manager, either. He is totally devoted to Michael who is unappreciative of him, which leads to Jim Halpert wondering aloud at one point, rather ironically, "What does he get out of the relationship?".

What draws me to the show is perhaps the relationship between Jim and Pamela Beesly, the receptionist. In season 1 and 2, Jim was reluctant to make his feelings known because Pam was engaged. In the current season, Jim is seeing another girl but still harbours feelings for Pam. Ditto Pam for Jim.

It's complicated on Jim's and Pam's part but pretty fun to watch for the rest of us.
