Scotland has an amazing range of landscapes and each is diametrically different from the other. Traveling from the lowlands (Edinburgh) to the highlands, as our funny tour guide suggests as an analogy, is like a trip to the moon and it's rightfully so.
The highlands with snow-capped mountain ranges, where deers roam, provide a scenic backdrop you can't find anywhere else. The word "scenic" doesn't cut it ; "prehistoric" would be more apt but still doesn't quite describe the vast barren mountainous region.
Too bad I couldn't get decent shots due to the overcast sky. Even if I could, they wouldn't do justice to the place. I think I have found Heaven on Earth.
