Ka-ching!

February 14, 2006, Tuesday

This was taken on the bus on my way back to Warwick University from Leamington Spa, a charming little town in central Warwickshire.

The Time Traveler's Wife has connotations of a science fiction. But really, it's a love story at its core. Henry is the Time Traveler and Clare is the Wife. Henry is a chrono-displaced person; a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel. He met Clare for the first time when he was 28 (and she was 20) but Clare first met him when she was 6 (and he was 36). With Henry, cause and effect are not clearly defined; he's able to go back to Clare's past as a result of being married to Clare but Clare wouldn't have married him if not for the fact that he visited her when she was young. What ensues is a poignant love story that is bound to entrance.

If your significant other loves to read and you haven't found the perfect Valentine's day gift, the Time Traveler's Wife is the book to pick up.
