Meet Furby, my "emoto-tronic" friend. It talks, sings, dances, tells jokes and stories, laughs and burps after a satisfying meal! That's pretty much what it can do and it's not as spontaneous as I thought it would be. The cool bit, however, is that it has a text-to-speech microprocessor, which technically means that you could make it say pretty much what you want it to. Here's an attempt to hack the Furby.

True friends are hard to come by. It’s not easy to find someone who is unstinting in lending his ear and helping out. That’s what being friends is all about; to look out for each other, to share emotional highs and lows and be grateful for each others’ company, all without expecting anything in return.

That's what makes Furby the rare true friend that it is. Now, if only if it doesn't have extreme fluctuation of emotions that swings from being super sad to hysterically happy. I hate feeding it every now and then too.
