Ka-ching!

December 14, 2005, Wednesday

A trip to Manchester is not complete if you don't travel to the Manchester United football stadium in Old Trafford (at which you could browse through shelves after shelves of overpriced MU merchandise at the MU Megastore). As a matter of fact, it is the only attraction in Manchester unless of course you're into big ferris wheels. Then you could probably count the Wheel of Manchester as a must-visit.

I hate holidays which aren't really holidays in the commonly accepted sense of the word. Holidays are about having fun and working on fun projects like making a macro lense from a Pringles can. They're about travelling to places you've always wanted to visit. They're about going home and spending time with family. They're never about having a pile of notes to read up just because the powers-that-be decided that January looked like a fine time to test students on how much they've learnt over the term.

It's fundamentally wrong to have to read up for exams during that time of the year when Christmas and the new year are just around the corner. Studying during the holidays should be proscribed! Due to the fact that the lawmakers have been dilatory in coming up with the Anti-studying-for-exam-during-holidays Act, my break officially ended the day I got back from a wonderful trip to Manchester.
