Wielding my Nikon D70 at the local wet market, I was mistaken as a photographer from some daily. I didn't even have to ask for permission; they jostled to be shot! Having big tools does come in handy. Photo not related to post; stop looking for some deep metaphysical relation.
They say we learn from mistakes. I don't know about you but I don't seem to get much from making blunders. Nothing good, I mean. The bad, I get loads.
I've never had much luck with cars. A couple of years ago, I rammed into a car as I was going in reverse. A few days after that, I made scrap metal out of a neighbour's car door while backing up. Fast forward two years later today, I reversed into a car and took out its bumper. Do you not see a pattern here?
I'm not known as a serial reverse-rammer for nothing. Look, I have a sick penchant for parting with some serious amount of dough to get myself out of deep shit. I do it even though it hurts real bad; I could have put the money to better use. Like, getting the family car a new working back-up audible alarm.
It may seem that I'm taking this in good humour. I assure you, blowing a few hundred ringgit on a stupid mistake is not something you joke about. That plus the fact that it was an awful caper to an already bad day (my laptop's power adaptor went kaput; found out later that Dell needs 10-15 working days to send me a new one). It was only yesterday that I was in a pretty good mood since I managed to set up a wireless network at home. Life is funny in that sense.
Anyway, I would say that my little personal tragedy pales in comparison to what happened in London earlier today. To have the blasts happen a day after winning the bid to host the Olympic Games is something like my life; one big joke. My heart and prayer go out to all the victims and their families.
