Two years ago, if someone were to boldly predict that I would one day dedicate an entire post on my fine blog to my not-so-fine college's hall of residence, I would most probably remark drily, "Yeah, it would come right after the post on how I lost my virginity to Veronica Lake". Then again, I don't think I would have said that; that someone might be too dim-witted to catch the sarcasm. Worse, he might think I had a fetish for dead actresses.

Anyway, that someone would have made an entirely spot-on prediction. Darn, should have asked him for stock tips; I wouldn't have bought those inflated Fountain View shares then (those bloody shares dropped from RM5 to RM0.40 per share within three weeks).

Today, almost two weeks since I moved out from aforementioned hall of residence, there is a sudden feeling of sadness. To ease this weird sense of loss, I've decided to dedicate this post to- the Hall. Sniff; must hold back tears.

I miss the place. Particularly how it's so god-forsaken and so far away from any known civilization. I remember with fond memories that flight of stairs which I had to scale on a daily basis to get to my suite. And how I long to have one more meal at the mamak shop nearby which made me pay premium prices for its fine selection of overnight curries! Above all, I miss the broadband connection that went down at apt moments like the time I wanted to post my 2004-in-retrospect piece.

Ah, one couldn't have asked for a lovelier place away-from-home to stay for two long years.
