In case you missed it last year, here's an Odds&Ends' season greeting just for you. After watching The Polar Express at the IMAX theater, I so wanted to make a 3D version of the animation but was daunted by the lack of technical capabilities on my part. I thought this 3D photo how-to would come in handy; apparently, it didn't quite work that way.
So yeah, IMAX is pretty cool but my first IMAX experience didn't exactly blow me away. To have snowflakes floating before your eyes and train charging at you were something but I was expecting more. The Polar Express, supposedly an evangelical movie, was ok but it wasn't as fun as The Incredibles and certainly didn't do justice to IMAX's giant screen.
It's Christmas, aren't you glad that you have the day off? While digging into the roast turkey, baked ham and whatnots, let's not forget that Jesus is the reason for the season. Let's not let it slip our mind too that December 25 is also the birthday of ancient Gods the like of Osiris, Adonis, Dionysus and Mithras. December 25 sure is one holy day to have so many Gods (and Son of God) born on the day. Have a blessed day, folks!
