Seruan keramat Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj kembali bergema lagi...
Greeted the arrival of 31 August with 7 loud "Merdeka!"s alongside friends and fellow Malaysians, spurred on by local celebrities at Ikano Power Centre. For those not in the know, Malaysia turns 47 today, having gained our independence on 31 August 1957.
Had actually wanted to go the Merdeka celebration at KLCC but was discouraged by friends with tales of huge crowds and potential freak accidents what with people throwing firecrakers at will into the crowd. Since Ikano is so much nearer from our hostel, we decided to go there instead to catch glimpses of local celebrities the like of Disagree, Ferhad, John's Mistress and Too Phat. Caught more than mere glances. I managed to snap some pretty cool photos of Disagree and Ferhad; will post them in the coming entries.
It's my nation's national day. So, I figure it would be apt to post a couple of patriotic songs: Jalur Gemilang (The official name of the Malaysian flag) and Keranamu Malaysia (Direct crude translation: Bacause of You, Malaysia). Not really my favourites but since I couldn't get Sudirman's Tanggal Lapan 31, I guess they'll have to do. Enjoy!
Btw, the Gmail accounts giveaway is still on. I've given out accounts to two deserving winners and since Google is generous enough to provide me with more invitations, there are still 3 more to give away. All you have to do is solve this little puzzle: The KEY is in the SOURCE, tap (CLICK) RIGHT to VIEW (words capitalized to facilitate decoding). It's fairly easy; heck, you don't even have to rack your brain. Trust me, Gmail is much much better than what you're using now.
Before signing off, I wish to extend my good wishes to fellow Malaysians; Selamat Hari Kebangsaan!
