Ka-ching!

Rolling Clouds and Hills
August 12, 2004, Thursday

Heaven, I’m in heaven;
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak;
And I seem to find the happiness I seek;
When I'm out watching flick after flick.

I think I'm in heaven. Well, almost. Raindrops are falling, but not on my head. I'm free and nothing's worrying me. Almost.

Am sitting here at the quiet and not-too-cold corner in the library. Ear buds plugged in, I can hear Frank Sinatra crooning all-time favourite Cheek to Cheek. Thanks to the wonder of modern technology, am blazing across cyber space on radio waves, courtesy of college's wireless internet connection. A window right on my left (reason I know that it's raining) provides respite for tired eyes; have been staring at laptop's screen for the past few hours.

Was watching 13 Going on 30 on DVD, courtesy of a friend. Not terribly good, but as movie goes, it's fun to watch. The soundtrack is pretty decent; am starting to like Michael Jackson's Thriller now because of the movie. The casting is brilliant too; they actually found this 13 year-old girl (Christa B. Allen) who bears striking resemblence to Jennifer. Speaking of whom, Jennifer Garner looks different in this chick remake of sort of Big! (the one in which Tom Hanks made his mark); she's so much cuter than she was in Alias (which, btw, am not a fan of). Hmm, maybe it's this weird penchant of mine for ladies who are 30 but act as if they're 13 (In case you're not laughing, that's supposed to be a joke; lame one, can't agree more with you).

Have never been good with jokes. One of the biggest regrets (apart from not being able to play a single musical instrument) I have about my life is not being able to crack people up like Andy Serkis (aka Smeagol) does in the film (he's Jennifer's boss in the movie) or like David Cross. Now, if you're anything like me, you'll probably go in that droning tone of mine, "Huh? Who the heck is David Cross?". OK, Cross is this cool funny dude who shares his political insights with you while making you roll on the floor, laughing out loud. Stand-up comedies suddenly seem like a cool thing to do after listening to one of Cross's acts. I do hope I could give it a try some day, you know standing in front of a crowd of drunkards in a pub and making them laugh and puke from laughing too much; it sounds terribly exciting. Before that, some serious work needs to be done on my presentation skills.

Skills, hmm; last paper tomorrow- Thinking Skills Paper 2 (Fishtail left a really funny comment on that in the previous entry). Exams coming to an end but am worried about not getting straight A's; Accounting Paper 2 totally sucked. Normally, I wouldn't give two hoots, but as the results for this exam will be used for my UCAS application, it scares the sh1t out of yours truly.

I know I've posted today's photo before. But, I couldn't find any other suitable picture in my collection for today's entry and besides, I love this shot. Before signing off, here are some really amazing aerial photos you don't want to miss out on. Enjoy the rest of the week!
