Google's IPO site is up, providing prospective investors with information pertaining to the company. Its prospectus, surprisingly, is easy to understand, unlike this other prospectus of a local company I tried to read some time ago in the newspaper. The language used in Google's prospectus is simple, non of those pretentious jargons people use to sound impressive. Taking a leaf out of Warren Buffett's book, there's even An Owner's Manual in the form of a letter written by Larry Page, co-founder of Google. Another nice touch: a presentation by the management; you get to hear from the CEO, founders and CFO of Google on the "important aspects of our business".

The prospectus was quite an interesting read unlike the stuff I've to read up for my coming exams. Speaking of which, to make up for the lack of reading materials I have on subjects of importance to the exams, I borrowed a couple of books from the library. Finding the right book wasn't easy what with the limitations of the catalouging system. No thanks to the less than helpful librarian either; she didn't want to move an inch from the comfort of her seat in front of the computer to help find the book ("It's there if the computer says it's there; go find it yourself and stop bothering me from checking out this hunk on Hot or Not"). The last bit is a mean addition of mine; what she really said was "One of the students must have hidden the book". Crap, why wasn't I feeling lucky? In the end I'd to borrow a much older version of the book which is rather useful, only that it smells a tad mouldy.

The fume emanating from the book made my head swim so much that I was glad when one of my friends suggested going out for dinner yesterday; it was something to look forward to. That friend of mine, he has a car at his disposal, so dinner would be somewhere not within walking distance of the hostel. He brought us to a restaurant of sort which serves rather nice Nepalese food. His well intention wasn't that well-received though because for some reason, the majority (of the people who went along) chose not to have dinner there and went instead to an Italian restaurant which serves pricey pizzas and pastas. The Wisdom of Crowds doesn't apply in this scenario, it seems.

Also, yesterday I held iPod Mini in my hand. Played around with it and was impressed by the Click Wheel. While the Touch Wheel was cool, the Click Wheel is a touch practical than the former for now there's no more tapping on the buttons inadvertantly. The new iPod also sports the Click Wheel. But, there's more than meets the eye. Apparently, it has a couple of new chips which no one has any idea what they are for. Whatever the purpose they serve, knowing Apple, it would be something real cool.
