Sleeping bag: checked, compass: checked, water supply: checked... Hmm, think I've got everything ready for my very first trip into the jungle. The day after tomorrow, I'll probably be somewhere deep inside the forest, backpack on my back, trudging along hilly jungle tracks, humming Happy Wanderer and snapping a picture or two of the great outdoor along the way.
This looks like a chance to commune with mother nature and having fun while I'm at it. Am I glad I won't be spending another bloody weekend at hostel, even if that means I've to miss watching the inaugural Malaysian Idol and sleep in mosquitoes-infested jungle for the next three days. Now, I've to clarify here: my hostel isn't that bad a place only that convenience lapses when it comes to getting around. A car would make this place a whole lot more bearable (big hint here, Papa).
On a much more personal note, the past few days have been insightful. Yours truly is going to go through a transition as a result. Have had enough of being nice and polite to bitche$ and a$$holes (pardon the language, if you will). I'm too compliant in a sense and that has to change. I'm always eager to lend a helping hand but being used is another thing. Come to think of it, being mean and rude isn't that bad a quality afterall; case in point: Simon Cowell; he's mean, he's rude, and he's famous. I don't mean to be rude, but ar$ehole$ (am refraining from naming names) don't deserve an ounce of politeness. Show me respect and I'll show you what you duly deserve is my new mantra.
Here's a couple of nice photoblogs you shouldn't miss: Amani's A Photoblog and Sandra's Flying Shark; both are now in the links page should you ever lose the links.
